My condolences to the whole Galloway family at this difficult time. I worked in the same office with Stewart for many years at the Saint John shipyard. I fondly remember the Scotland v England "battles" we had with paper planes, apple cores and even stranger objects coming over the cubicle walls!
Stewart was an intelligent and well read friend, but never took himself too seriously.

We lost a beloved member of our Galloway family this week. I’ll never forget the first time I heard Mr. Galloway read in our Catholic Church in Hampton, NB when I was a child. I have no doubts it was the first time in my young life that I had ever heard a foreign accent! lol. Mr. Galloway and his young family were new to the area, all the way from Scotland! Mr. and Mrs. Galloway had three of the most beautiful little children with the blondest hair I had ever seen. We used to tease my little sister Francine Chisholm Galloway, around age 6 at the time about adorable David Galloway, same age. She would blush when we would say he was her “boyfriend.” Midnight Mass wasn’t “Midnight Mass” if the Chisholm and Galloway families were not in attendance and Stewart and often my dad Bill Chisholm reading or greeting. Years went by with the Chisholm kids and Galloway kids growing up and out. Our parents remained lifelong friends and by golly, Francine and Dave found each other again as young adults and officially made our families related by marriage in 2000! Together over the decades we have celebrated and we have grieved. Today, once again we grieve.
I will miss you Stewart! Christmas Eve will never be the same. I will miss your accent, your love of your family and that good ole Galloway Cheer!
