Obituary of Kevin Lentine Wardle

With heavy hearts, the family of Kevin Lentine Wardle announces his passing which occurred on Friday, October 18th, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB. Born on July 12, 1968, in East York, Ontario, he was the beloved son of John and Teresa (Lentine) Wardle.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 35 years Susan (Bedard), his parents John and Teresa, his sister Lisa (Dean) Boudreau; sisters-in-law Kathy (Lloyd) English and Donna (Jeremy) Fry; Brother-in-law Bill (Lisa) Bedard; nephews John and Bradley (Melissa) English, Mitchell Fry, Benjamin and Nolan Bedard, and Jacques Boudreau; nieces Katie (Scott) Driscoll, Cassandra (Jamie) Hoyt, Emily and Elisabeth Boudreau, as well as many other extended family members and friends.

Kevin grew up in Mississauga, Ontario, graduated from Toronto’s Northern Secondary School, and attended Trent University in Peterborough where he met his wife, Susan. He later returned to the University of Windsor to study Business. Kevin was a certified American Institute of Baking (AIB) baker and worked for many years in procurement for Corporate Foods/Maple Leaf Foods. In 2008, Susan and Kevin moved to Quispamsis, NB where he began a career in the insurance industry.

Kevin had a gentle, generous, kind-hearted, and fun-loving spirit. His boisterous, full-bodied laugh was contagious, and he loved to make others smile and laugh along with him. He had sharp wit and thoroughly delighted in big family gatherings ~ especially Thanksgiving, Christmas and summer gatherings on the Bay at the camp in New Brunswick. He was an avid Leaf’s fan who was ever hopeful that this year would be “the year”. He enjoyed skiing on holidays with family, fishing with friends (the guys from work), and golfing with his wife. Kevin’s heart-attack in 2014 required lifestyle changes and he found contentment just being home where he loved to cook, listen to music (70s, 80s & 90s), read, watch TV (sports, slap-stick comedies, movies or re-runs of Mash), and care for his cats.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541) 1063 Main Street Hampton, NB. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 PM on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the Hampton Rural Cemetery, Hampton, NB. A reception will follow at Reid’s Funeral Home from 4:30 to 6:30 PM. All are welcome to join the family during this time to celebrate Kevin’s life. The Ontario celebration of life will be held from 2-4pm on November 16, 2024, at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 120 located at 127 Mill Street, Georgetown ON L7G 2C7.
