Obituary of Joan Atwell

It is with great sadness that the family of Joan Audrey Atwell announce her passing which occurred on Friday, September 13, 2024 at her home. Born on December 7, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Arthur & Viola (Brown) McKee.

Joan’s kitchen was always full of delicious smells and was especially known for her tea biscuits and homemade rolls. She enjoyed being outdoors in the garden and valued the time she spent in nature. A talented sewer, she enjoyed creating beautiful quilts, Halloween costumes, and Barbie clothes. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family, filling their lives with joy and laughter. Her warmth and love will remain forever.

Joan is survived by her daughter Maureen Baxter (Stephen); her granddaughter Sarah Jones (Mark); step-grandsons: Trevor Baxter (Meagan Bellinger) and Trent Baxter (Jen); great-grandchildren: Riley & Lily Jones; step-great-grandchildren: Harlow, London & Jocelyne Baxter. Joan had many nieces and nephews, including great and great-great, several cousins and many wonderful friends.
