Obituary of Delbert Reid

With gratitude for a life well-lived, the family of John “Delbert” Reid announce his passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on August 2, 2024, at the age of 83. Born June 13, 1941, in Doaktown, NB, he was the son of the late John & Bernice (Robertson) Reid.

Delbert will be missed by his partner Kimberly Downs; sons: Roderick Reid of Toronto, ON, Michael Reid of Abbotsford, BC, Kirk Reid (Jess) of Saint John, NB and Johnny Reid of Edmonton, AB; daughters: Belinda Reid-Pace of Dartmouth, NS, Jodi LeBlanc (Mark) of Hampton, NB, and Melissa Reid of Moncton, NB; step-daughter Shannon McBride (Shannon) of Hampton, NB; and many, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Del was predeceased by his parents.

Delbert was proud to own and operate Del’s Trucking Company for over 40 years. He enjoyed moving homes and buildings all across the country. Later in retirement, you could find him tinkering in the yard with one project or another. Daily he would be found at Tim Hortons hanging out with “the group”. Del often traveled across Canada, sometimes spontaneously, always with his sidekick Bear.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home, 1063 Main Street (506-832-5541), Hampton, NB, reidsfh.com. In keeping with Delbert’s wishes, there will be no services. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.
