Obituary of Cameron Fiander
It is with profound sadness that the family of Cameron Russell Fiander announce his sudden passing which occurred on July 10, 2024 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, New Brunswick. Cameron was born on June 24th, 2000, the son of Corey Fiander and Jennifer Belyea Ashe.
Cameron was an amazing young man who inspired a lot of people in his life. Despite the many health challenges he faced over the years, he always persevered with resilient determination, while his wonderful smile and infectious laugh warmed everyone’s hearts. Over the years he had many surgeries and illnesses, yet he hardly ever complained, and was a model patient whether he was at the IWK or the Saint John Regional Hospital. Cameron loved spending time with his family; he enjoyed the happy sights and sounds of people sharing good times together. He loved to watch movies and listen to books being read to him. He was a great road trip companion; he was often so chill he would just fall asleep. He especially loved snuggle time with mom, dad, sisters and grandparents. Cameron knew the value of the simple pleasures in life and in this he reminded everyone else of those simple pleasures. He was great at expressing gratitude and we are forever grateful for that.
Cameron had a set of eyebrows and lashes that made women everywhere truly envious. He had a sweet innocent face, but occasionally sported a sly grin. We often wondered what he was thinking- but knew Shakira likely frequented those thoughts. There was little doubt of his love for his family, which he spoke of through his beautiful eyes.
While it can’t be denied that he had challenges in life, he did have a life full of love. He received incredible care from countless physicians and specialists over his life- thank you! Our community was always amazingly supportive. We like to believe that he was protected from all the unpleasant things in the world and was surrounded by only love, and for that he was the luckiest one. His strength, good humour and sweet personality will always be remembered and deeply missed by his loved ones.
Cameron is survived by his parents, Jennifer Belyea Ashe (Jeff) and Corey Fiander (Megan); sisters Peyton and Kennedy Fiander; step-sisters Emily and Charlotte Ashe, grandparents Carl and Barb Fiander and Barry Belyea; uncles Stephen Belyea, Dennis Fiander (Beth) and aunt Angie Adams (Shawn), and several cousins. Cameron was predeceased by his grandmother, Cherri Belyea.
