Obituary of Jean Debra Smith

It is with great sadness that the family of Jean Debra Smith announce her passing which occurred on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. Born on January 31, 1971 in New Glasgow, NS, she was the daughter of John and the late Alberta (Reimche) Blake.

Jean had unconditional love for God, family, and friends. As a devoted Christian she was a faithful member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was the daughter of a pastor and attended several schools along their travels and made many lifelong friendships. Jean attended and graduated from Parkview Adventist Academy (PAA), where she met the love of her life Dale. They went on to get married and had two beautiful children. She was so proud, always cheering on her children and grand babies. 

She really was one of a kind. Loving, caring, creative, fun and such a beautiful person. Her heart was big enough to share with so many, and many have felt her love. Her biggest wish was that she will meet the Lord again, and we all know with the pure heart she had she will surely meet him soon. We know that in her final moments, the ‘son’ shined down on her and gave her peace at last. Jean will be forever missed, but would want us to remember that one day we will meet again, in a happier and peaceful place.

Jean is survived by her loving husband Dale Smith of Barnesville, NB; children: Jesse Smith (Megan) of Bloomfield, NB and Shayleesa Smith (Eric Johnston) of Grand Bay-Westfield, NB; grandchildren: Leah, Emma and Kyle Smith; father and stepmother John and Ngaere Blake; brother David Blake of Alberta; sisters: Judy Johnson (Mikael) of Vancouver, Washington and Joan Septembre of British Columbia; father-in-law and mother-in-law: William "Bill" Smith (Marlene) of Nauwigewauk, NB; brother-in-law Troy Smith (Amanda Linfield) of Saint John, NB; sisters-in-law: Sherry Smith and Michelle Frank of Lacombe, AB; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, where visitation will be held on Saturday, July 20, from 4 to 7PM. The funeral will take place at 2:00PM on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at Reid’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Barnesville Seventh Day Adventist Cemetery, Barnesville, NB.
