I was shocked when I read the announcement, made on the Pregnancy Resource site, of Melody's death. I hadn't seen Melody in awhile, but would think of her often. We met at Walmart, several years ago, wanting to buy the same picture, but luckily there were two. We met several times after that and shared some meals. She was such a lovely lady. I can't believe she is gone, so young. My deepest condolences to all of her family. It is our hope in Jesus that we will meet again.

Bro, Griffin, we are so sorry to her of your beloved and our beloved Melody's death. We'll continue to pray for you and your family and we look forward to seeing her again in Heaven. She was so kind and loving to me, our PCC Toronto team, and the PCC families we serve. She was such a joyous person. I'll miss our productive chats about our Saviour, our service to Him and others, personal stuff, her beautiful smile and infectious laugh. Mike. We were so sad to hear of Melody's death. We fondly remember Melody volunteering with us at Pregnancy Care Centre Toronto when you were living in the area. Melody was full of joy in her Saviour and was always quick to care for our staff and our clients with an encouraging word and with infectious laughter. We are so saddened to hear about Melody. I recruited her as a volunteer at the then Crisis pregnancy Center ( now Pregnancy Resource Center ) She came alongside me and encouraged me at a time I needed it most and helped immensely with a new program we were starting. I recommended her to replace me as director when I left. She has been an amazing woman to work with, pray with and such a wonderful smile and friend to all without judgement. We shared a love for gardening and art as well as people.

Melody was like a big sister to me. I always admired her feistiness, her independence and oh how I loved her hair! If only I could grow up to have hair like that…. Early on in our lives by way of her very coolness Mel inducted me into the world of music, and to this day whenever I hear Foreigner I smile and think of her and Mike. And it’s hard to separate some memories of Mel from memories of Sparky, the family cat. For some reason I can’t forget her saying with exasperation “Oh Sparky!!” in her fun crackling voice. It’s odd the things we remember from childhood!
Last summer we met for an impromptu coffee and donut in Truro. Little did I know what a gift this was! We had a good visit and talked about family, friends and life.
Mel I’m gonna miss you. My heart aches for the love of your life, Mike, and your boys. May you rest easy dear cousin.

I love this picture of Melody. She was such a beautiful woman inside and out. I will always cherish the times spent with her at the Pregnancy Resource Center. She knew how to light a fire and inspire people! My admiration for Mel is profound as I witnessed God use her to take the little seedling that the PRC once was and nurture it, prune it, and love it until it blossomed into a fully functioning/vital community organization. She did this with a humble spirit and total reliance on her Savior. She had a great team and leaves behind a great team to carry on the work she loved.
