Our deepest condolences to your family for the loss of truly a wonderful and caring person. We were truly honoured to have been under Maud's leadership. She made a huge impact on all of us, and we truly felt like a family as we were a very tight knit team. We loved doing fun things, which included attending Blue Jays games. We are so saddened to learn of the passing of Maud.
We met Maud on Skootamatta lake. She was one those people you want to bond with the instant you meet.
We will cherish great memories of making Pizza in the outdoor wood oven smack in the middle of the Pandemic.

Dear Dan and family
I came across this poem and wanted to share it with you. In some small way I hope that it will bring you comfort in the days, weeks and months ahead of you.
It’s called “GOD’S GARDEN”

Dear Dan, Danielle, Christopher and family,
Our hearts are broken with the news of Maud’s sudden passing.
She had a heart of gold and was always there to help anyone when needed.
After buying the cottage from them, they drove from Toronto on a very early holiday weekend morning to clean the cottage before we got there.
Unbeknownst to them, we were already there and sleeping.
The cottage was immaculate and they their extra cleaning was unnecessary but Maud wanted to make sure it was spotless for the new owners.
Thank goodness they showed up because they shared their knowledge of the cottage life history and started what would become a lifelong friendship.
She welcomed my family and friends with open arms and big smile.
We are blessed to have so many fond memories of our canoe adventures, domino challenges, night time fire shenanigans and Maud teaching our kids to water ski.
Please know that your family will always have a special place in our heart. ❤

Le décès de Maude nous a bouleversés. Maude était si gentille, si douce, si réservée, mais en même temps si présente. Je me souviens de Maude, enfant, qui nous visitait à Port-Alfred, chez mes parents, ses parrain et marraine. Elle était rieuse, toujours de bonne humeur, espiègle, bref un petit rayon de soleil. « Maude, on ne s’est pas vu souvent pendant ta présence parmi nous, mais c’était un bonheur à chaque occasion. The unexpected passing of my loving sister Maud is such a tragedy. She was such an amazing,caring,down to earth loving sister. We were very close. Maud was always willing to help anyone that needed it. I will miss the daily interactions that we shared.

Our heartfelt condolences to all of you. Maud was indeed a very generous, kind, loving person. Eventhough we only knew her for a few years, she welcomed us into her family of friends.
I remember learning to quilt with her and Rosanne. The laughs we had trying to sew the quilts for Pine Meadow and for Blaire! I'm sure we drove you crazy, Dan, with all of our frenzied discussions on how we should complete each step!
We can't imagine the depth of your loss. We can only hope that you can cherish the memories of sharing your lives with such an amazing person.

My sincere condolences to Danny, Christopher, Danielle and the family! I wish that the memories you have will one day bring you comfort and peace.
I met Maud in 1986. We were walking our babies at the same time and started to talk. We became fast friends and spent a great deal of time together while we both lived in Newmarket!
Maud was a beautiful woman inside and out and I have been fortunate to have kept in touch with her over the years!
Our last contact was December 26, 2023 through FB messenger. Maud sent me a photo of a handwritten recipe that I had given her. I chuckled at how well used that piece of paper was and Maud said I am still making this 35 years later.

Dear Dan, Chris, Danielle and the whole family,
We have no words that can convey the sadness we felt, hearing that you had to say goodbye to Maudie. In hindsight , thank goodness for the move to New Brunswick so you could all spend more time together. How precious that time has become. We were so lucky to have had the best neighbours any body could ever ask for. We had so many laughs, swims, dinners,drinks on the deck and great conversations.
Skootamatta Lake and Hughes Landing Road have not been the same since you moved away.

Although I didn’t know Maud for long she embraced me with friendship. I have fond memories of spending hours with her making quilts for her granddaughter.
She was a lady who lived life large, always with a smile on her face. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her I’m sure. Hein and I are deeply saddened by her passing and are embracing her family with our love.
