Obituary of Eleanor Mae Tayes

It is with great sadness that the family of Eleanor Mae Tayes announce her passing which occurred on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB. Born in Saint John, NB, on November 20, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Royden and Mamie (Hughson) Lackie.

Eleanor is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, John Tayes of Hampton, NB; children: Stephen Tayes of Quispamsis, NB, Murray Tayes (Margaret) of Quispamsis, NB, Brenda Todd (Barry) of Cumberland Bay, NB, and Blair Tayes (Susan Brown) of Rothesay, NB; grandchildren: Colin, Gregory, Melissa, Melanie, Amanda, Robyn and Sarah; eighteen great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Eleanor was predeceased by her two brothers and one sister; and daughter-in-law Deb Armstrong.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Brandon Persaud and all the staff of 4CN at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Your kindness and compassion shown towards Eleanor will not be forgotten.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, and will be held privately.
