Charles Bachman

Obituary of Charles Bachman

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Charles Albert Bachman which occurred on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  He was born on February 3,1974 in Halifax, NS, to Margaret and the late Albert Bachman.

Charles is survived by his loving wife Julia (Quilty); mother Margaret Bachman; sister Alise Bachman (Moncton, NB); aunt Brooks McGrath, cousin Lynn McGrath, sister-in-law Andrea Webster (Halifax, NS), parents-in-law Lawrence and Mary Quilty (St. Georges, NL) and many cousins and friends. Charles was predeceased by his father Albert Bachman, cousin Paul McGrath, grandparents and brother-in-law Christopher Webster.

Charles was always a big kid at heart and truly valued the time spent with his nephew William Webster, niece Lorelei Webster and godsons Carter and Matthew Bird.

Charles grew up in Port Aux Basques NL, and during junior high  attended Landmark East (Kentville, NS) for help with his learning disability. The school had a profound impact on him and he often attributed his successful career to the skills he learned while at the school.

Charles graduated from St. James High and then travelled to Egypt with Canada World Youth. He graduated from Cape Breton University (Sydney, NS) in 1997, where he met the love of his life Julia.  Together they built a beautiful and fulfilling life in Hampton, New Brunswick surrounded by a large circle of friends and celebrated 25 years of marriage in October 2022.

A charismatic hard working man, Charles always found time for everyone he met and never forgot a name or a face. Charles cherished his friendships and you could always expect a text, a call or a facetime just to keep in touch.

When talking with you, he made you feel as though you were the most important person in the room. He inspired everyone around him to do their best and he could always be counted on for a good story and a laugh.

Throughout Charles’ career with CGS Canada as senior project manager, he formed many valued and important relationships which he treasured.

Charles’ family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Cory Dickson, Extra Mural team, Dr. Mackin and the extraordinary nurses at the Palliative Care Dept of the Saint John Regional Hospital.

Thank you to CGS Canada and our large circle of friends who supported us throughout Charles’ journey.
