I was sorry to read about Hap’s passing. The name jumped out at me as I caught up with the Saint John news. We used to pass by your house in Hampton when we were dropping my grandmother off to visit her Hampton friend before we headed off to the Belleisle for the day. Your home was a welcoming place. What can I say he was a lovely neighbour in Hampton. How many time did I play crib with Hap and Shirley it was always funny I would be doing door to door Collection for the Canadian Cancer Society would knock on their door come in for a game and then they would donate. Dear Shirley, Dale, Davine and Mark, I felt a deep sadness yesterday when I heard of Hap’s passing. Shirley and Hap were among the first people we met after moving to Hampton in 1972. We soon learned that both Hap and Shirley were an integral part of the Hampton community. I have always had a great deal of respect for Hap and feel privileged to have known him.
