Obituary of Elsie Esther Tobin

It is with great sadness that the family of Elsie Esther Tobin announce her passing which occurred on April 27, 2022, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, New Brunswick. Born in Barnesville, NB on August 18, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Alice (Hosford) Dalling.

Elsie taught school for many years and worked in MRA’s and Woolco. She enjoyed many trips camping at her trailer in Bangor, gardening in the outdoors, picking berries and apples, yard sales and travelling. Elsie was always a hard worker and loved to sew and make quilts. She also enjoyed going for drives.

Elsie is survived by her children: Ruby Tobin (Gary) of Barnesville, NB and Terry Tobin (Charlene) of Ketepec, NB; sister Georgie Dalling of Barnesville, NB; grandchildren: Destiny, Haylee and Tyler; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Elsie was predeceased by her brother Richard Dalling (June); and an infant brother.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff on 4CN & 5CN at the Saint John Regional Hospital for all their care given towards Elsie during her time there. Your kindness and compassion will not be forgotten.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 2 - 7PM at Hampton United Church, 24 Robb Court, Hampton. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at 2:00PM from Hampton United Church with interment to follow at Barnesville Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Attendees of the visitation and funeral should be aware that masks are preferred and available if necessary.

Donations in memory of Elsie may be made to the Barnesville Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Covenantor Cemetery or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences to the family and charitable donations may be made through ReidsFH.com
