Obituary of Frances Barry

 The death of Mary Frances Barry, 89, of Quispamsis, wife of the late Malcolm A. Barry occurred March 15, 2022, at Rocmaura Nursing Home, Saint John, NB.  She was born May 10, 1932, in Saint John, daughter of the late Phillip and Jean (McCullough) Bowes.

 

Frances loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Many enjoyed getting together for traditional Sunday dinners and special holidays at the family home. She and Malcolm followed their grandchildren to all their sporting and academic events. Frances loved skating and valued the time she was able to get back to painting. Once her youngest went to school she returned to work as an EA, first with CAMR and then in the public school system.

 

Frances is survived by her 13 children: Nicholas (Joann Hamilton-Barry), Saint John, Mary Beth Demers (Norman), Saint John, twins Rosalie Harroun (Michael), Quispamsis, and Joanne Palmer (Robert), Quispamsis, Patricia Barry (John Hondas), Quispamsis, Barbara Reid (Brock), Saint John, Margaret Britt (Paul), Nauwigewauk, Gregory (Cathy), Wickham, Paul (Colleen), Rothesay, Monica Gallant (Paul), Saint John, Angela McDougall (Harry), Saint John, Jeffery (Diane), Valley, NS, Phillip, Renforth; 30 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sister, Rosalie Isele (Tom), Fort Lauderdale, FL; brother, Phillip Bowes, Calgary; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Bowes, Saint John, as well as many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and husband Malcolm, Frances was predeceased by her brother James Bowes; granddaughter, Mary Harroun, and sister-in-law, Barbara Bowes.  

Words cannot describe the family's appreciation to the staff and volunteers of Rocmaura Nursing Home for their exceptional care and kindness.

 

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Reid's Funeral Home,1063 Main Street, Hampton (506-832-5541). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 33 Gondola Point Road, Rothesay, on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at 11 AM. Masks will be required when entering the church and during the Mass at the family's request. Reception to follow the Mass in the Church Hall.   For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Rocmaura Foundation or The John and Julia P.
