Dear Ann, David & Caryl & Family , Please accept my Love , Prayers and Condolences on Your Auntie Dar’s passing away . She loved you all dearly .She radiated a beautiful smile when you came to visit her, she certainly knew your presence and how much love you generated to her. She was a beautiful lady and it was an honour and a privilege to have been able to spend time with her and bring her to activities ; a few of her favourites of course was the live musical entertainment and the pet therapy. You all have beautiful memories to cherished in your hearts forever .
Rest in Sweet lady ! She will be truly missed ! Blessings and Love , Gloria Baird & Elsie Blackwood ( My mom)

I had Ms. Bacon as a math teacher in the early 70's & have often thought of her as she had the ability to explain what at first appeared to be complicated in very simple terms. An excellent teacher who had a life-time effect on me, & likely many others. She was also one of the very few women who was focused on her teaching & not how she looked, which back then was so rare. That too stuck with me - that women could value themselves for their work, not their appearance. Well done, Mrs. Bacon!

Sincere condolences on the loss of your aunt, Dot Bacon. I was blessed to have her as a teacher during all three of my high school years, and later, to be her colleague at Simonds High. Miss Bacon was extremely competent, kind, caring and well-respected by staff and students. With her clear instruction, many of her students were able to succeed at and thoroughly enjoy Math. In fact, she is one of the reasons I became a Math teacher. Miss Bacon planted the skills of knowledge and hard work which enabled many East Saint John students to pursue successful careers in Math, Science, Engineering, Medicine and associated fields. To her, we will be forever grateful. May she Rest In Peace.

Dorothy Bacon was my math teacher over 40 years ago and I have never forgotten her. I hated math until she taught us. Amazing teacher, awesome lady. Rest In Peace.

When I was in Grade 12, our math teacher resigned and Miss Bacon had to cover his class and her own at the same time. She was the best math teacher I ever had, even under those circumstances. My condolences on the loss of a smart, dedicated lady.

My condolences to the family of “ Miss Bacon”. I hope you know how well liked and respected she was as a Math teacher at Simone’s High. I was fortunate enough to be in her Math class for all 3 years there and those of us in her class knew we were fortunate at the time, which is rare for teenagers. I never heard an angry word or complaint in her class or about her. Simonds was blessed with many good teachers. She was at the top of the list.

It is sad to hear of Miss Bacon's passing. As a student at Simonds, although I did not have her as a Math teacher, I often heard of how well she was regarded by students. In later years, as a colleague, I found her to be a gifted and caring professional. Simonds High School lost much with her retirement.

I am sorry for your loss. As a minister who is only at the Snow Centre for a service once a month (at most), you don't get to know the residents. Thank you for this beautiful tribute and obituary and the reminder of the many-facetted wonderfulness of the people one encounters.

Dorothy always had a smile and a look of anticipation when it was her turn to sing a chorus with me. She never said no when i asked if she wanted to sing, but sometimes looked at me like she thought it was stupid of me to even ask such a question. She was a joy.

What a great Math teacher! "Miss Bacon" gave me an understanding of Math that helped me alot, plus many talks that were definitley life teaching. When she first came to the Snow center I asked her if she remembered me from school, she looked at me and said " Oh Yes!!!". Then I told her I was one of the good kids in her class and she looked at me again, laughed and said " Sure" with another laugh. At that moment I knew her memory was good. Haha I will truly miss my teacher, and also seeing David and Ann visiting. Thankyou for the priviledge of getting to enjoy Dar's company and humour while cutting and styling her hair. God has brought her home to enjoy a heavenly Christmas. What a gift! May God Bless you all, with His love and comfort during this time and always.
