Jean and Family: I am saddened to learn of Gord's passing. I enjoyed my years teaching at Hampton Junior High with Gord. The fall corn boil and square dance in the barn is a warm memory. Gordon was always positive and encouraging, willing to listen and to advise, and challenging. He believed that a teacher should deliver one new course each year rather than always teach the same subjects year after year. May your treasured memories bring you comfort and strength! Gordon was a fine man and a wonderful educator. God bless. Mildred Urquhart

Really sorry to learn of Mr Forster’s passing. He was my grade 7 science teacher at Hampton Junior. Funny the things I forgot about until I read this now. Me Foster was a good teacher. We had a lot of laughs and he was impressionable, I always had a story to tell from that class, or something I learned that reminds me of those days.
Please accept my condolences to his wife and family. May he Rest In Peace.

I was so sad to hear about Gord’s passing but it certainly brought back so many memorable moments from my years teaching at Hampton Junior High School in the late 1970’s while my husband was posted at the Hampton RCMP detachment. ie. Canoe Trips; Gord’s endless support and encouragement with dealing with students/curriculum; school dances and not to forget the Square Dance in his barn. Our UNB connection goes way back to the fond memories of university life both in the classroom and the football field. Thank you Brian Freeman for letting the UNB Red Bombers family know about the passing of this Special Alumni member. Thanks for the memories Gordie Foster!!!

Mrs. Foster and family, please accept my sincere condolences on your loss. While it has been many years since our last meeting, I have many memories of Gord, and your family, having been a student at both Lakewood Heights and Hampton, and a neighbour in French Village. Earning pocket money in high school minding kids and animals and later working with Gord when he came to help in the hayfield. It was during the latter that he offered some advice that gave me a much-needed change in perspective at the time and that has never been forgotten. He was a presence throughout my youth, a very good man and always one setting a fine example and deserving of the greatest of respect. I'm grateful to have known him. May you take comfort in a lifetime of wonderful memories.

Dear Jean and Family,
It was a privilege to get to know Gord and all of you. It is no secret that I was very touched by your many special, tender times with Gord, either out in the garden or stealing a private corner near the piano to play and sing his favourite tunes. You even shared your talents with other residents. The many stories I have heard about this wonderful man made me want to a better person. (truly)
I will be thinking about you as you mourn the loss of your husband, father, grandfather and friend.

So sorry to hear about Mr Foster's passing away. I first met Mr Foster as a little girl at Lakewood Heights Elementary and thought then this big tall man was the nicest man ever. Needless did I know a few years later when I moved to Hampton again the nicest kindest man ever would be again in my life as my principle ( and he remembered me too , which shocked me ). Mr Foster was well respected, loved and will be deeply missed by all us, his former students. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.
