I'm so sorry that John has left us so suddenly. He was indeed a character and loved by many. He has been our "Y" buddy for as long as I can remember and joined us in our many excursions and activities. I remember Thanksgiving hikes with turkey dinners outdoors, volleyball on the boardwalk, paddling up in Mt. Carleton territory, and many parties. He was quite the social butterfly and loved to be around people. He was always ready for the next event. I would love to see "The Book" that he always put his social engagements and contacts in. He would always say "it's in the book". I'm pretty sure I made it to "the book' as he made a point to call me every year on my birthday. He always had an update on his children and grandchildren - he was very fond and proud of you all. He's in another book now and may God watch over him - he was definitely a blunderbuss and will need some watching (lol). Farewell old friend! No stress and no worries - you're in good hands now. So sorry to hear of John’s sudden passing. Numerous good memories over the years…. the Y, hiking, dinner parties, deer and moose hunting excursions and his trademark from scratch chinese dinner to name a few. Sincere condolences to John's family at this time of sadness. John was a fellow Y's Man, and introduced me to the club. He was a golf buddy, and was my partner in winning a Saint John City Seniors golf championship a number of years ago. I enjoyed sailing, and canoeing with John as well as hiking, and attending numerous social functions, He was a people person, always affable, and gifted with a truly agile sense of humour! I'm just glad his grandchildren got to know him, and now can cherish his memory.

John was a good man and I will miss him. He was always there for me to listen and give good advise, always ready to lend a helping hand. On our trips to the camp for a day in the woods the first part of our conversation was always devoted to the grandkids, their recents accomplishments in athletics and how fast they were growing, he was so proud of them.John always told me there was only two things in life that were important ,your family and your health!
