So very sorry to hear of John’s passing...growing up in Hampton to me “Johnny” was a fixture there. Everyone knew he and his family. I worked with both John and Irene at the then, Hampton Pharmacy, and for sure his quick wit, knowledge and gentle guidance when needed was much appreciated. We always shared laughter! Unbelievable to lose him so young....he made such a difference in so many lives and will continue to do so as we remember his thoughtfulness and friendship over the years. I'll never forget the summers I spent with the Bettle family. While I mostly spent time with the younger of Uncle John's children, I still enjoyed sitting and chatting with him. He had a gentle teasing sense of humour that I still talk about to this day. He gave me the nickname 'Sammy J,' I think because he wanted the 'J' theme to continue! I actually use 'Sammy J' as a username in some places, for example the library, so whenever I go I think about Uncle John and how he gave me that nickname.

With a diagnosis of ALS we were grateful to read that John was able to have a 'peaceful passing' at home surrounded by the love of family. But he was much too young. i am so sorry to jhear of johns death he was a good person he was full of laughter and always helping other people i have known jogn for about 40 some years and went to school together i will miss him a lot

Jayne and family, John was such a blessing to all. He helped everyone he could and always new where to find what you needed at Pharmasave. God gave him a kind and gentle soul.
