Oh my God, I am so sorry to just be finding this out now. Joan and I were best friends when we both went to the little yellow Lakeside school from grades 1 to 4. She was a year older than I so took me under her wing and showed me the ropes. We ate together, played together and worked on the Centennial garden at the school together and visited each other's homes. We were inseparable until she "graduated" out of elementary school and went to Hampton Consolidated in grade 6. My sincere condolences to her family.

From the Richard family, we are forever grateful for the care Joan gave to our Mother. It provided Mom with the ability to stay at home the last few years of her life and it gave the family peace of mind knowing Joan was there taking care of her. She always had a smile and a kind word for everyone and we’ll miss her. May she Rest In Peace.

Jason, other members of Joan's family, and her friends - I am so sorry for your loss. Joan was an absolutely wonderful, caring person. I am forever grateful for the compassionate and respectful manner that she cared for my mother Sandy Callaghan for many years. Joan was not only Mom's care giver, but a true friend and companion I know my mother trusted, appreciated, and enjoyed spending time with. For myself and my siblings, it was always comforting to know we could count on Joan, and it was always a pleasure to spend time with her when I came home to visit Mom. It was always easy to strike up a conversation and share a laugh with Joan.

Jason & family so sorry to hear of Joan's passing your Grandparent's Bernard & Dodie were my God parents so knew Joan since we were little girls. We also worked at Provincial Insurance together after we graduated. Joan was so easy to get along with & a lot of fun I have a lot of good memories of Joan she will be missed.

My sincere condolences to Joan's family. I knew her for years, lived with her out west, and she was an amazing person, she had a heart of gold, would do anything for anyone and was a tough as nails. Sincere condolences to Joan's family. She was my mother's first caregiver when she required extra assistance to be able to stay in her own home. Joan looked after whatever my mother needed help with, and my mother became very fond of her. When someone new came, it just wasn't "Joan" or the way she did things. My mother was very saddened by the news of Joan's passing as are my sister and I.
Please know our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to all who loved her, and may you find comfort in knowing she touched the lives of many.

So saddened by this newsJoan was an integral part of our family, by providing the support necessary to ensure our Moms wishes of staying home were fulfilled. May you Rest In Peace Joan. Jason, Blake and Reilly, your Mom and Grandmother talked about you incessantly when I visited Mom every summer. She made the best muffins, and was so intuned to the fact that my 4 year old son picked out the cranberries, that she would leave a little batter aside just for him. I just shared this sad news with my 18 year old daughter and her words were, “She put up with us, and our mess, but still made us the best Cranberry Orange Muffins”

Jason,Reilly and Blake. I’m so sad to hear of Your Mother’s / Grandmother’s passing. She was such an amazing gift to my family starting more than 15 years ago when my Mother’s sister arrived in Hampton from New York, and continued providing care with a loving, gentle and patient hand to our Aunt Isabelle and our Mother for 12 years. She became part of our family during some very tough years. We were blessed by her friendship. May your memories be a blessing.

Joan was a life saver for myself and my family in the care she gave to first my Aunt Isabelle and to my Mother for over 12 years. The apples of her eye were without a doubt her Grandsons; Riley and Blake. It was only to spend a day with them that she would ask for time off or OF course her weekends with the "Girls" in PEI! My heart breaks for her son Jason. OONLY THE GOOD DIE YOUNG. REST IN PEACE,JOAN.
