Dear Downey Family: We were saddened to learn yesterday of Damon's passing. We have not seen him for a few years now but have fond memories of the years Damon and Alice served in the Halifax Nova Scotia Temple with us, and of our staying overnight in their home on one of our visits to New Brunswick. We are unable to attend the visitation or the funeral but please know of our love and prayers for each one of you at this sad time.

My sincere condolences at the passing of Brother Downey. I looked up to him for many years at his organ playing and served as his Home Teacher for a few years. I always enjoyed visiting him and Alice in their home, chatting about life, baseball, and the Gospel. May the Lord bless you and your family and strengthen your testimony in His Plan of Salvation.
