* PLEASE NOTE * Funeral day and time is now announced; Friday March 8, 2019 at 11:00 am Family will receive visitors at funeral home from 10:00 am until service time at 11 am It is with heavy hearts the family of Rose Marie Brown, wife of the late Huxley Brown, announce her passing on Monday February 11, 2019 at the Dr. V.A. Snow Centre in Hampton, at the age of 78. Rose was born in Economy NS, a daughter of the late David and Sarah (Matheson) Densmore. Rose is survived by 2 daughters; Cheryl Currie (Randy) of Ward’s Creek and Jennifer Brown of Rothesay, 2 sons; Rick Brown (Deana) of Cat Spring, Texas and Trevor Brown (Nova Lee) of Calgary, AB, 2 sisters; Bertha Brandau of Henderson, Nevada and Florence Densmore of Eckville, AB, 6 grandchildren; Kaitlyn, Colton, Aaron, Jade, Zoe and Alex also 4 great grandchildren; Ava, Benjamin, Maxwell and Huxley. Rose was predeceased by her husband Huxley, 2 brothers; Ralph and Elmer and a grandson Dylan. Mom had a few jobs in her lifetime, and was a very hard worker. A few of her jobs were as a Cafeteria worker in a local school, a nurse’s aide at Loch Lomond Villa, and after retirement a homecare worker on a part time basis. And, of course, her most important job, was raising 4 children and looking after her husband and home. She was a caring woman, with a terrific sense of humor, a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Mom treasured and valued a clean home, and a pretty home and was always striving to make and keep it that way. "Javex" was her favourite cleaning tool. It was the answer for everything, even if it meant the early fading and wearing of our favourite clothing item. She loved her home on 33 Quispamsis Road dearly. Everything was homemade, even the bread and rolls, which she taught us girls how to do. After many tries, we got it and am thankful for that, mom. She was a tireless soul, and could work circles around anyone. Her sense of humour was wonderful, she loved to laugh. Which brings me to the story, which we loved to tease her about over the years, of her peeking out the front door curtains, back when there was just a field across the way, and someone was walking by. She would say, "Come here, who is that? Are they ever homely." Of course, we would be mortified, that she would be spotted in the window. Ha, ha. Mom was so tickled when the grandchildren started to arrive and loved them all dearly. And then, the great-grandchildren started appearing, even better. She loved you all dearly. Through the years, mom had many dear, close, friends. One in particular, I would like to mention Bette Scott, who helped in more ways than she will ever know. We love and appreciate you, as did mom. Mom, we will miss your radiant smile, your beautiful soul and presence. We are grateful you are now reunited with dad and all those that have gone on before you. We want to mention and thank Dr. V. A. Snow staff and caregivers for all their kindness and care and attention given to mom these last 14 months. We sincerely appreciate you all, for all you do. It means the world to us. RIP mom. A Celebration of Life for Rose will be held at Reid’s Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 11:00am, the family will receive visitors from 10:00 am until service time at 11:00am. Interment will take place at a later date in Athol, NS. Donations in Rose’s memory can be made to the NB Heart and Stroke, NB Lung Association, the Liver Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
