To our dearest friends, it breaks my heart even having to write this, jerry was such a strong, kind man. We all shared so many amazing memorable moments with him. If we ever needed anything you guys were always there, you were such an amazing neighbour. I remember hanging around in your camper playing with the girls, or picking raspberrys in your yard. I love how involved you were while we all grew up. In this life time you have done so much good for so many people, and we all appreciate it so much. Dear Sylv. and family; On behalf of executive and fellow members of Saint John Vocational Alumni Association, it grieves me greatly to have to be sending this message. We missed him Tuesday night at our Alumni meeting and everyone sent their thoughts and prayers. Over the years he has been a great presence both as a fellow class mate and worker at our Alumni meetings and reunions for so many years. Please accept our most sincere sympathy in your loss. Treasure the many great memories you have shared over the 50 plus years. It was with great sadness we learned of Jerry's passing. I have been a friend of the Mitchell family since 1984 when I became friends with Christine and Jerry (jr) at General Panet High School. I have remained friends since then and consider Christine my best friend from High School. I recall meeting Mr. Mitchell for the first time and he was a bit of an intimidating figure at first, especially if you saw him working out in the gym. I suppose any man with daughters has to be. Although an imposing looking man, you could tell how much he loved his family To Mrs. Mitchell (Sylvia), Jerry and his family, Margaret-Anne and her family, Christine & Dan and Rachel, and Paula and her family, we send our deepest and heartfelt condolences!
