Obituary of Sheila McDonald

With heavy hearts and profound sadness we announce the passing of Sheila Rose McDonald, age 67, of Riverview, NB, which occurred on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the Moncton City Hospital. Born in Sydney, NS, on March 28, 1950, she was a daughter of the late Doyle and Margaret (Cross) Janes. Sheila was defined by a relentless strength and zesty spirit to which she met every day with her beautiful smile. Grandmother, sister, friend, aunt, mother and confident, Sheila coloured the lives of her friends and family with her quirky charm and loving support of which will leave a void that cannot be filled. Her memory will burn bright in our hearts forever loved "to the moon and back." Sheila is survived by her devoted daughter Helena McDonald (Colin) of Riverview, NB; sisters: Mary (Larry) Reid of Reidville, NL, and Rowena (Peter) Hawkey-Noble of Lakeside, NB; brother Douglas (Krystal) Janes of Eastern Passage, NS; loving grandchildren: Darrien, Claudia and Ethan Armstrong (Neil Armstrong); loyal and devoted nieces: Sabrina (Geoff) Wilson and Alexia Hawkey-Noble; nephews: Jason (Stephanie) Reid, Troy Reid (Terri), Anthony Janes (Sam) and Andrew Janes; great nieces and great nephews: Mikkayla, Canaan, Samson and Nora; as well as many extended family and friends. Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 3:00PM from St Paul's Anglican Church, 486 Kennebecasis River Road, Hampton, NB, conducted by Archdeacon Robert Marsh. A private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Sheila may be made to the St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Hampton, or to the memorial of the donor’s choice.  Personal condolences to the family and donations may be made through ReidsFH.com
