Obituary of Brenda Graef
It is with great sadness that the family of Brenda Leigh Graef announce her passing which occurred on December 11, 2024, surrounded by her family at home. She was born in McAdam, NB on January 15, 1951, a daughter of the late Byron & Annie (Lyons) Billings.
Brenda was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was a woman of prayer and faith helping to bring her family closer to Christ. Mom loved nature and would talk to God on her many walks. She loved to serve others and would help anyone in need, especially her family. She was always available day or night to listen, encourage, pray, counsel, or teach.
Mom loved Christmas decorating early each year, baking Christmas treats and preparing for a Christmas Eve feast of Schnitzel. The entire family would be gathered around to enjoy the magic of Christmas with Grammie and Otata.
Thursdays were a special time for the grandkids, taking them all to the store for treats and inviting them back to play for the day. Mom helped the cousins become best friends. Sundays were a time for family dinners with all four boys, their wives, and grandchildren coming together to enjoy a wonderful meal and visit.
Mom and Dad came to every sporting event (basketball, soccer, and baseball). During each of the grandkids Christmas concert, Grammie cheered the loudest. She always said goodbye long after we were out of sight. Mom will be greatly missed, but we look forward to our reunion with her again as families are forever.
Brenda will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 50 years, Heinz Graef of Titusville, NB; her sons: Jason Graef (Mary) of Hampton, NB, Kevin Graef (Melanie) of Salt Springs, NB, Russell Graef (Kate) of Salt Springs. NB and Philip Graef (Jessa) of Rothesay, NB; her precious grandchildren: Hailey (Aidan), Sam, Gustav, Lucas, Breanna, Lincoln, Josef, Vincent, Erich, Heinrich, Jordon, and Neal; her brother, Keith Billings of Edmonton, AB. Besides her parents, Brenda was predeceased by many aunts and uncles.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. Visitation will be held Monday, December 16th, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (177 Villa Drive, Hampton). The funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 17th at 1:00pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (177 Villa Drive, Hampton). The interment will take place in Salt Springs Cemetery at a later date.
