I was so sorry to hear of Wanda's passing and it brought back many memories from the time she and Joe were active members of the congregation at Saint Alphonsus. What a wonderful couple they were, working so hard in their ministries and a delight to be with whenever we were together.
Jack and I send our deepest sympathy to the Thompson family and hope that their happy memories will bring some comfort.

MaryBeth, Peter, Darren
Your parents were so very special to me, as were you in my babysitting years and still are today. The memories I have of them are a bright light for me. In my experience keep all the good memories at the top of the pile, forget the bad they're not worth the space.
Please know I'm keeping you in my heart and prayers always

the staff and Chateau de Champlain can't begin to thank this amazing family for sharing their Mom Wanda with us ... always dressed in fashion and everything matching (even when returning from an emergency hospital visit) the twinkle in Wanda's eyes when family visited her and last but not least Wanda always found a way to get someone to smile when they least expected it.
RIP Wanda ... hugs to her family and Mary Beth your Mom will live on in your smile and heart!

Dear Thompson family, many years ago (early 90,s) Joe (Mr Thompson to me as a former KV student) and Wanda passed on a beloved guitar to a young girl in Salt Spring who wanted one for Christmas. As a local pastor I got to be the intermediary. I learned then what a Spirit-led, other-focused couple they were. As I read this obituary I found myself wishing I’d got to know and be influenced by them more and I found myself thanking God for them and your family and asking him to make me like them. Rev Paul Carline (Bloomfield Baptist)

I am deeply saddened to hear of Wanda’s passing. Both Wanda and Joe were a source of support for so many, and their impact on the community is immeasurable. Growing up in Nauwigewauk, I always saw Wanda as a respected lady of the area and the church community at St. Alphonsus. Together, Wanda and Joe were like one – an inseparable pair who embodied the spirit of serving God, the community and others through their loving kindness.
Although I have not seen Wanda in recent years, as I remember she always made time to chat and was genuinely interested to hear about your life, sharing her warmth and kindness in each interaction. Both she and Joe showed interest and support of my journey to become a teacher and I am not sure they realized how much that meant to me. It was just who they were, and I am grateful for the unassuming guidance they provided in my faith and in life.
My deepest condolences to Mary Beth, Peter, Darren their families and those who loved Wanda most dearly.
