Obituary of Wayne Charles Stockford

It is with great sadness that the family of Wayne Charles Stockford announce his passing, which occurred on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at his home in Quispamsis, NB. Born in Wickham, NB, on January 19, 1954, he was the son of the late Melville and Violet (Lawson) Stockford.

Wayne wore his heart on his sleeve and wanted to take care of everyone. He was quick to make a joke out of pretty well any situation to put the people he loved at ease. In his early years he loved the outdoors and everything it held to explore and do. In the last years of his life he spent it spoiling  his grandchildren with ice-cream and loving his amazing wife. 

Wayne is survived by his loving wife Janet Ellis-Stockford of Quispamsis, NB; daughter Toni Stockford of Saint John, NB; grandchildren: Adeline, Parker, Isabelle, Layla, Keagan, Xander, Ryan, Jadon, Steven, Donald and Rosie; brothers: Robert Stockford of Wickham, NB, Earl Stockford (Elizabeth) of Wickham, NB, David Stockford (Marlene) of Wickham, NB, Melville Stockford of Wickham, NB and Ron Stockford (Linda) of Wickham, NB; sisters: Norma Urquhart of Hampton, NB, Shirley Cameron (Floyd) of Upper Hampstead, NB, Sharon Urquhart (John) of Kars, NB and Ella-Marie West of Wickham, NB; several nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces and great-great nephews and nieces.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was predeceased by his brothers George and Gordie Stockford; brother-in-law Stan West; son Lonnie Frankelton; and sister-in-law Linda Stockford.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 18, 2024. A private family interment will take place at a later date at Wickham Cemetery.
