Obituary of Irene Humphrey

It is with sadness that Irene Janet Humphrey’s family announces her death which occurred on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Kiwanis Nursing Home, Sussex, NB. She was born in Hampton, NB on December 16, 1943, a daughter of the late Clive and Janet (Templeton) Goodman.  

Irene was best known by many people as a 29 year employee at the Scotia Bank in Hampton. Besides her dedication to her career, she also had a great love and enjoyment for her gardens which she took great pride in. Irene was an active member to her church and volunteered at countless strawberry festivals. Irene along with Kenneth spent many years traveling the world whether by boat or plane and of course in their travel trailer which she enjoyed so much. Irene’s countless hobbies included dancing, quilting, knitting, painting and genealogy.

The Humphrey family would like to say a special Thank You to the wonderful staff at Kiwanis Nursing home in Sussex, who provided great care and support to Irene and her family in the passing days.

She will be missed by her loving husband of 59 years, Kenneth; sons: Steven (Paula) Humphrey of Bloomfield, NB, Gary (Patricia) Humphrey of Bloomfield, NB; grandchildren: Jerrit (Lindsey), Branden (Dyllan), Nicole, Hannah, Cecilia; great grandchildren: Lyle, Willow, Russel, Florence; sister Kathleen (Danny) Cormier of Brampton, ON along with several nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, Irene was also predeceased by her son Terry F. Humphrey; grand son Terry C. Humphrey; sisters: Barb Sprague, Marie Robertson, Margaret Goodman and Dorothy Goodman.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB.  The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024 at 2:00PM from Reid’s Funeral Home Chapel.
