what a lovely human illie was calm and kind. the last time i saw her was at her home in st martins where she took me to her attic and showed myself and one of my grand daughters all the teddy bears and dolls. this was a delight, we talked for a bit, i looked at her land with the animals where upon she updated me on what animals she had and why. i did not know of her younger life. just the real estate life that we shared. she was a person that shared her knowledge with younger agents. thank you illie, til we meet again. janet jeffrey johnston

I met Ilie in the late 1960s when I was working at Lunney Real Estate. I think I either met you Gary or remember Ilie speaking of you. I have fond memories of Ilie and I thought of her more of a friend than a work related person. Sincere condolenes to her family. Rest in peace, Ilie ~ see you on the other side.

I remember Ilie from my childhood when I visited my grandparents who, with their seven children, shared the old Osborne house, mostly rent free, with her parents and their children. Illie and my mother, Bernice (Allen) Brown, who is now 105, were close friends and remained in touch after my mother moved to Alberta. She often spoke of the kindness shown to her family by the Osbornes during the Great Depression of the 1930s and during and after WWII. My surviving aunt, Freda Weston who is 102 was also a close friend. I remember Gary who was a small child when I visited my grandparents during he summers in St. Martins in the 1940s and 50s. Our deepest condolences to you, Gary and Lynn and all your extended family. A visit with Ilie would often begin and end with her recounting stories of days gone by and always appreciative of the support and love of those around her. She was happiest when her home was full of visitors especially children. She affectionately became Auntie Ilie to the Hird family for so many years. During many visits, who can forget how often the phone would ring; calls from friends near and far who wanted to hear her voice and chat for awhile. Thank you Auntie Ilie for all the warm welcomes over the years. Thank you Auntie Ilie for the laughter especially during those card games. Thank you Auntie Ilie for reminding us to cherish family and friends and be mindful of the needs of others. The memories of you we will cherish and share.
