Obituary of Doug Sheldrick
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Freeman Douglas “Doug” Sheldrick announce his passing which occurred on Monday, May 27, 2024, at his home in Rothesay, N.B. Born in Saint John, NB on June 17, 1938, he was the son of the late William “Dennie” and Mildred (Holder) Sheldrick.
Doug is survived by his children: Brian Sheldrick (Sherry) of Quispamsis, NB, Robert Sheldrick (Kimberley) of Ottawa, ON, Kim Prosser (Keith) of Riverview, NB and Joanne Baxter (Allan Moore) of Willow Grove, NB; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister Barb McDevitt; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Doug was predeceased by his wife Katherine Sheldrick (Power), and sister Rita Otis.
Doug spent two years on the Saint John City Police Force and thirty years in the pulp and paper industry.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. As per Doug’s wishes, there will not be any viewing or funeral service. There will be a time of fellowship and celebration of Doug’s life from 2 to 4 PM on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Reid’s Funeral Home.
