Obituary of Harry Githens Beyea

It is with great sadness that the family of Harry Githens Beyea announce his passing which occurred on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at the Dr. V. A. Snow Centre, Hampton, NB. Born in Smithtown, NB on December 9, 1931, he was the son of the late Hanford and Amy (White) Beyea.

Harry is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Lois Beyea; children: Kathryn “Kathy” Beyea (Oscar Gauvin) of Dieppe, NB, Stephen Beyea (Hazel) of Hampton, NB and Gary Beyea (Judy Mitchell) of Saint John, NB; grandchildren: Stephanie Hickey, Sara Gourley and Cassia Beyea; great grandchildren: Will Gourley, Elle Gourley, Gavin Clarke and Maryn Clarke; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to his parents, Harry was predeceased by his brothers: Frank, Weldon and Donald Beyea; sister Lois Smith; and infant sister Helena Beyea.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB where visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 4 to 7PM. A legion tribute will be held on Wednesday at 3:30PM followed by a Masonic tribute at 4PM which all are invited to attend. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 10:00AM from Reid’s Funeral Home chapel. Interment will take place in the spring at Acadian Loyalist Cemetery, French Village, NB.
