Obituary of Bob Kallar
It is with extremely heavy hearts that the family of Robert “Bob” Winston Kallar announce his passing which occurred with his family by his side on Friday, January 26, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB. Born in Saint John, NB on February 14, 1950, he was the son of the late Lee and Joyce (Colpitts) Kallar.
Bob was an electrician and belonged to IBEW local 502. Over the years as an electrician, he worked in many different places such as the dry dock, the refinery, the mill and he also had owned his own electrical business back in the day. He also worked many years in the woods and always enjoyed being outdoors.
Bob loved spending time with his loved ones, which often included his extended family of all the kid’s friends. He always enjoyed a good card game and loved to win. His passion in life was his draft horses that he raised most of his life, starting as a child and continued to do so especially after he finally got his son Kyle. He loved to watch hockey and cheer on the Montreal Canadians.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Cindy Kallar of Quispamsis, NB; children: Lisa Kallar (Matt Bell) of Saint John, NB, Stacey Waters (Jeff) of Saint John, NB and Kyle Kallar of Quispamsis, NB and granddaughter Brooklin Waters; brothers: Fred Kallar (Judy) of Hammond River, NB and Lee Kallar (Diane) of Quispamsis, NB; sisters: Sandra Wallace of Portage Prairie, MB, Janet Kilpatrick of Titusville, NB and Joanne Frazee (Everett) of Midland, NB; sister-in-law Trudy Borthwick (Johnny); brother-in-law Scott Matheson (Lisa); as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. He is also survived by his fur babies which included his horses: Bella, Lily and Dolly; as well as special fur baby Peggy Sue.
The family would like to thank the nurses of 4C North and the Palliative Care Unit for all their care shown towards Bob and his family. A special thank you to “Anne” and Barry, the wound care team that took care of him from day one.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506)-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB where visitation will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8PM. The funeral service will take place at 11:00AM on Feb 2, 2024 at Reid’s Funeral Home.
