Grampy was a wonderful grandfather. I will always cherish the memories of being on the shore, playing with Friday, catching frogs in the pond, dancing in his kitchen, and drinking Sussex ginger ale together. Grampy travelled across the country to help take care of me after I had surgery (and built us a new deck in the meantime) and that will always mean so much to me. Grampy’s wit and sense of humour will live on through his funny sayings, words games, and favourite songs. I’m so grateful for the time we spent together and everything that he taught me. I will miss you so much Grampy.

Brian has been my friend since we met at the Cabins in the Pines as teenagers. He was my husband, the father of my children, and lifelong friend. We raised our children together despite the miles that separated us. As young parents, we bought the land that became Brian's lifeblood and where our children lived with Brian in the summer. In later years, I was a welcome guest in Brian and Coleen's home. I join Coleen and all of Brian's children in mourning his passing.

My condolences and prayers to all who knew Brian and will now miss him. Brian was one-of-a-kind. I don't think Hoopy, Brian and I could have had more fun than we did back in the 70's. My fondest memories are when following a hot summer day cutting trees on his land we would go down to the lake for a swim and then cook supper on the shore. I will always remember the good times Brian!

Summers with Dad were filled with swimming in the lake, and visiting family-a lot! We went to see our grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins on both sides of the family often. In the early days at the cottage, we had no electricity or running water, so we read by candlelight. Dad was an avid reader and a good cook! Many mornings, we enjoyed his blueberry pancakes, which were cooked on a wood stove or over a fire. Later we converted the cottage into a winterized home--Leslie helped him lay the foundation for that house!
Dad loved the land and taught us to love it, too. We had special names for trees, including the Woodpecker Tree, as well as Fox Den Drive and Babbling Brook. Deep in the forest, there was an old foundation we would visit, part of the hidden history of the place. Dad loved to be at home, and he also loved to travel. Every summer, we went on a road trip: a cross-Canada drive, BC, Boston, New York, Isle de Madeleine, Nova Scotia, PEI, and the Cabot Trail were among the places we visited.
Dad loved Wille Nelson and so I sing, "Nothing but blue skies from now on," Dad. My condolences to all who loved him, family and friends alike.

Heartfelt Condolences to all of Brian's family on such a sad loss to you all and to the community of Cambridge Narrow as well. Brian was a great neighbor for the past 50 plus years. He was always ready with advice and solutions that went above and beyond, Whether it was attempting to catch a skunk for a pet or how to make pancakes on the shore. Brian seemed to know how to do it all. My whole life was spent either at Brian's place or in close proximity. There are so many good memories, to numerous to mention but held close to the heart. These past couple of years spending time with Brian and Coleen were truly memorable as he told many of his life stories, always interesting and always entertaining. Coleen we are thinking of you often with much admiration as you travelled this journey too. To all his children and grandchildren, Brian was a remarkable man. We will miss him and hold these memories close. Always in our hearts and always on our minds...
Sincerely, Jocelyn and Todd Cormier (((HUGS)))

I am sad to read of Brian’s passing, and send my sincere condolences to the McLennan family. I have so many fond memories of growing up across our shared yard with the McLennans since I was 5 years old, and I will never forget walking over to their Parents home every Christmas, all the gifts under the tree, the many visits to their Family cottage at the Narrows. I am sure Brian will be missed by all who knew him.

What I love the most about Brian was that he truly loved my mother without any conditions. He treated her like a Queen. His honesty and straight forward attitude was second to none. He was also a very snappy dresser. Especially when he wore his sarong and tied his work shirt in a knot! Love you Brian! You will be missed!
