Obituary of Ethel Jeffrey
It is with great sadness that Ethel Mildred Jeffrey’s family announce her death which occurred on January 20, 2024, at the Dr. V.A. Snow Centre, Hampton NB. She was born in South Branch, NB on January 24, 1938, a daughter of the late Roy and Mary (Burns) Kyle.
Ethel loved her family and was always up for a visit or adventure. She had many interests and talents, including being an accomplished seamstress, knitting and crocheting. She loved country music and is remembered for always having music playing and singing along. Playing cards was a passion and she had two perfect ‘29’ hands in cribbage.
Ethel returned to school in her early 40’s, earning her High School Equivalency in 1982 and Beauty Culture certificate in 1984. She enjoyed hairdressing, and after the sale of her business in 1995, she continued on a ‘mobile’ basis until a fall in 2018 required her to have full-time care. Ethel is remembered for her sense of humour, competitive spirit and generous nature.
The family wishes to sincerely thank the staff of the Dr. V. A. Snow Centre. Ethel lived with them the last 5 ½ years of her life and she experienced nothing but loving care.
