Obituary of Mel Harris

It is with heavy hearts that Mary Melvina Harris’ family announces her death which occurred on Monday, January 15, 2024, surrounded by her family at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born in Saint John, NB, September 27, 1950, daughter of the late Maxime and Rosa Mallais. Predeceased by her biological father Simon Gautreau.

Mel will be missed by her loving husband Wayne Harris; sons: Joe (Mary Lou) of Cumberland Bay, NB, Chuck (Darlene Forsyth) of Hamilton, ON, Keith (Tara) of Saint John NB; daughter, Crystal (Joe Arseneault) of Upper Golden Grove, NB; brother Wayne (Pauline) Mallais; sisters: Jeanette (Kevin) Thibodeau and Barbara (Elphege) Roussel; grandchildren: Chantelle, Nick, Dylan, Nathan, and Kyleigh. In addition to her parents, Mel is predeceased by her brothers Victor and Simon (Janice), and nephew Shawn.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, and will be held privately.  Interment will take place at Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Sussex Corner in the Spring.
