I heard stories about a very young Tom from my mother all my life... my Mom, Marion Biddiscombe, worked as a maid/housekeeper at the rectory in Gagetown when Roberta Ann and Tom were young. She recounted many sweet memories of her time there and always had a soft spot in her heart for Tom. " you go away Mary, and I'll get into the oranges" ... and once when the winter wood supply had arrived and both Roberta Ann and Tom climbed up on the pile, Tom found himself a little afraid of the height, Mom said Roberta Ann told Tom to 'be a sport' and Tom's reply was " I'll be a sport when I get back on the ground" , but, I think my favourite was of when Mom was leaving her job there when she married my Dad, and she asked Tom if he was going to miss her. His reply was, " When I look out the window Mary, will that be missing you? "
Tom was a great guy with a very kind way.... my late husband and I dealt with Tom for a number of years as our fertilizer and lime sales representative. It was always nice to see him drop by, and he visited Mom on occasion when he was in Gagetown.
I send you my deepest condolences to all the family. He will be missed for sure, but you will all carry him forward with you in all your wonderful memories of a life well lived. Rest in peace Tom.

Dear Tom's Family and Friends ,
Please accept my love, prayers, and condolences on the passing away of Tom. A life well lived , what a terrific Legacy Tom has left behind. I have known Tom since I moved to Hampton 47 years ago. We had many cups of tea, coffee at my farm kitchen table; especially when we were involved in the fish business with Hugh J. and I. Tom always had a big smile and was up for any challenges sent his way and helped where he could.Tom was well respected in the community and an honourable man ; he had a wonderful sense of humour and a huge Smile that would lite up a room . He loved his beautiful wife Theresa, his beloved children and so proud of all your accomplishments. You all have your wonderful memories to cherish in your heart forever! Rest In Peace Tom ! Love and Blessings Gloria Baird and family

Sylvia and I and the family are so sorry to hear the news of Tom's passing. I often think of the times with Tom and my Dad and everyone else who ever came to hunt and fish from the camps at Washademoak and Doaktown over the decades, they are some of my fondest and most treasured memories. Tom was a smart and sensible man, but I know he was the friend who would have dragged Dad into mischief, and I know Dad loved him for that.
