Obituary of David Murray Bower

It is with great sadness that the family of David Murray Bower announces his passing which occurred on Wednesday December 13, 2023, at the Dr. V. A. Snow Centre, NB. Born in Jordan Bay, NS on June 17, 1943, he was the son of the late Murray & Mildred (Hamilton) Bower.

David is survived by his loving wife Janice (Meisner) Michaud; step-daughters: Danielle Bremermann and her husband Eric of Oakville, ON, Suzanne Stevenson of Lakeside, NB and Valerie King and her husband Todd of North Bay, ON; brother Charles Bower and his wife Leona of Shelburne, NS; and sister Lillian Swain and her husband Ron of Shelburne, NS; brothers-in-law: Kent Meisner and his wife Ann of Venice, Florida, Andrew Meisner of Wolfville, NS and Bruce Cox of Winsor, NS; as well as 8 step-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his sister-in-law Dale Cox.

David grew up in a small community in Nova Scotia, graduating at the young age of 17. He joined the Air Force for a brief time. He went to university getting his Education Degree and taught high school in Kentville NS. He was someone who did many things well. Everyone wanted to be his golf partner, and he was a Master Bridge Player.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Dr. Snow Centre for the care he received during the last year and a half.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. A graveside service will take place in the spring of 2024.
