Obituary of Bob Ryan

It is with great sadness that the family of Robert “Bob” Eugene Ryan announce his passing, which occurred on November 2, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB. Born in St. John’s, NL on June 11, 1944, he was the son of the late Warren and Winnifred (Thompson) Ryan.    

Bob and Lena enjoyed their many winters in Florida together over the years and those years were always cherished times between the two of them. He dedicated his life to his career in the police force, having served faithfully to his roles there and his community. Bob will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.                

Bob is survived by his loving wife Lena Marie Ryan (Benoit) of Quispamsis, NB; sons: Paul Ryan (Stacie) of Lower Norton, NB, Darrell Ryan (Heather) of Quispamsis, NB and Andrew Ryan (Jean Matthews) of Saint John, NB; grandchildren: Cody Shannon (Jessica), Elijah Ryan, Devon McGarity, Matthew Hall (Nicole) and Lydia Hall (Kyle); great grandchildren Caleb and Cailyn; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his brother Warren Ryan.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 11:00AM from Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Norton, NB. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Norton, NB.
