Elizabeth--and all the family---Jack and I are just learning of your mother's passing.
We are so saddened that the world will no longer contain this brilliant caring, loving, woman--whom we have greatly valued and admired --for so many many decades.

I was so sorry to hear about Myrna’s passing. Myrna was one of the founding members of the Board of Directors of The Hampton John Peters Humphrey Foundation, and she did the legal work that allowed the Foundation to receive its status a a not-for-profit
Charitable entity. I remembered her through my mother who was the music teacher at Sussex High School. Mum thought the world of her, and I enjoyed a friendship with her as an adult.

Mrs Richards made history interesting. I had her for 2 years as a history teacher at KVHS and she was my home room teacher in Grade 12. You could tell when she got excited about an historical event as she would talk faster and faster as if rushing to get the whole story out before the end of the period. She had a lovely smile, a quick laugh and a sparkle in her eyes. I remember a paper I wrote in Grade 11. She gave me the topic: Queen Victoria- Mistress or Monarch. I knew the answer to that one before I even started! I hold the family in my heart and pray that you are supported by family, friends and happy memories.

What a beautiful obituary for Myrna Tears came to my eyes when I realized it reflected "the times" as it encompassed everything I knew of her especially through her younger sister Sheryl who was a very good friend. The recollections reminded me of the times...Beta Sigma Phi, Council of Women...,learning about women like Myrna forging ahead educating everyone & forging a path for others to follow
Jamie and I first met Myrna and Don through Sheryl at a family event in Hampton she was hosting. Her and Don were a lovely couple . They were warm , interesting , and wonderful conversationalists.
Jamie and I offer our condolences to family and friends on the occasion of Myrna's passing from a life well lived & remembered in such a wonderful context.
Rest in peace Myrna

Myrna, Anyways a wonderful friend of the family. Loved attending the events at the Mercer Settlement Church!! Always quick with praise for accomplishments, like when she called Randy to congratulate him for becoming Mayor. Big part of my family, Mom's great best friend, just took her for a drive a few short weeks ago. Asked her opinion many times. Was a great feminist and was always there for any woman with a question on anything. I will miss her...wonderful person.
To the family so sorry for your loss it will be a big one for all of you!!

Years ago, Myrna visited me in Los Angeles and we went out to dinner at a Swedish smorgasbord. We sat down together, and the woman who ran the restaurant came over and asked if we were sisters. Before we could answer, she asked, “are you twins” ? At which point we both said yes. We’ve been twins ever since and I am missing my better half very much. Myrna has been such a great, and loyal friend to me these past 54 years, which have gone by so quickly. I will miss her great advice, and her fun sense of humor.
Until we meet again, dear twin, you will be sadly missed. Francie
