Joseph Martell

Obituary of Joseph Martell

It is with sadness that Joseph Nazaire Martell's family announces his death which occurred on October 11, 2023, at his residence.  He was born in Arichat, NS, on February 21, 1948, a son of the late Narcisse and Blanche (Samson) Martell.

Joseph will be missed by his loving wife of 51 years, Dianne; sons: Steven (Kelly Cummings-Martell) Martell of Nauwigewauk, NB, Christopher (Jennifer) Martell of Rothesay, NB; daughters: Stacy Martell (Christopher Eagles) of Hampton, NB, Amy Martell of Nauwigewauk; grandchildren: Payten Martell, Rylee Martell-Eagles, Ethan Eagles; brother Venard (Donna) Martell; sisters: Shirley (Leo) Landry, Vina (Owen) Skinner, Lola Marchand, Alena Clements, Sylvia (Rodney) Fougere;  along with several nieces and nephews.

Joseph Nazaire Martell took after his father in many ways. He was a carpenter with many talents, such as building boats solo or with his dad, helping to build a family home or renovating one. All for his family.

He was a true family man and a selfless soul. He loved his family with all his heart and was a very proud father and grandfather.

He did not have a mean bone in his body. He would always make sure his loved ones were taken care of first. It didn't matter what it was or how impossible it seemed he would find a way.

The main person who impacted my father's life is my mother Dianne, it was love at first sight and he was devoted to her for 51 years in marriage.

He cared deeply and was loved by everyone. Whenever you needed him. He was there.

He was a great man; we will miss his silly song singing and his huge heart. Forever in our hearts.

Private family arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB.
