Obituary of Faye Holder

It is with great sadness that the family of Faye Ellen Holder, Long Reach, announce her passing which occurred on Monday, July 24, 2023, at the Embassy Hall, Shannex, Quispamsis, NB. Born in Newcastle Bridge NB, on January 28, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Edmund and Gladys (Barton) Copeland.

 Faye is survived by her children: Edwin Parker (Lisa) of Long Reach and Linda Parker-Vail (Malcolm) of Long Reach; grandchildren: Ashley Vail (Glen), Jenna Vail, Jared Cusack (Emylee), Emily Cusack (Stephanie), Cassidy Parker (Matt), and Courtney Parker (Brett); 6 special great grandchildren: Merrissa, Gabriel, Parker, Adeline, Payton, and Isabelle; brothers: Hayward Copeland (Theresa) of Minto and Wayne Copeland (Betty) of Chipman; sisters: Dorothy Quondam (Umberto) of Shediac and Betty Gagne (Denis) of Bouctouche; sister-in-law Carol Copeland of Minto; many nieces and nephews and her lifelong friends Terry & Nancy Fullerton and Bung & Doreen Waddell.

In addition to her parents, Faye was predeceased by her husband Fred Holder, sisters Joyce and Judy Copeland and brother Lester Copeland.

Mom was one of a kind. She adored her family, she was so proud of everyone and was always making sure they had what they needed. Friends were very important also, she was always up for an adventure. Hiking, road trips, dancing, singing, boating, baking and feeding people were just a few of her favourite things. Mom was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 62 and enjoyed spending time with her late husband Fred at all the functions. 

We would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Embassy Hall. It takes a very special person to look after someone as if they were your own family, and that is exactly how you cared for our Momma/Nanny Faye. We are so grateful for the love and care she received there. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at 2:00pm at Long Reach United Church Cemetery, 3232 Route 845, Long Reach. Following the graveside, all are invited to join the family at the Moss Glen Legion as we celebrate Mom’s life. Donations in memory of Faye can be made to the Embassy Hall Recreation Department.
