Obituary of Stephen Stewart Coates
It is with great sadness that the family of Stephen Stewart Coates announce his passing which occurred on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB. Born in Burlington, ON, on March 14, 1983, he was the son of Catherine “Cathy” King and the late Scott Coates.
In addition to his Mom, Steve is survived by his Daughter Keira Coates of Chatham, ON; Sister Cynthia McKenzie-Coates (Brandon) of Hagersville, ON; Brother Kenny Powell (Samantha Arthur) of Hampton, NB; Aunt & Godmother Terri King (Dave Pullan) of Gagetown, NB; Aunts: Laura Carter (Gary) of Lynden, ON, Leanne King (Peter Whittier) of Grimsby, ON, Leeanne McCluskey-Coates (Myles) of Cambridge, ON and Sherry Coates of Hamilton, ON; Maternal Grandparents Paul & Ruth King of Dunnville, ON; Close Companion Annette Schultz of Hamilton, ON; Close Cousins: Jayme Jacobs (Bobbi), Krista King, Rachel King and Dale King (Erica):Cousins: Adam & Ryan Carter, Emma Whittier, ON;Nieces & Nephew: Chandler, Karter, Aaliyah, Charlotte, Georgie McKenzie.
In addition to his father, Steve was predeceased by his paternal grandmother Kay Coates.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Steve on Saturday, July 22nd, 2023 at 2pm at 3590 First Line, Hagersville, Ontario, N0A 1H0. Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. Donations in memory of Steve may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
