Obituary of Ella Leona Brown

It is with great sadness that the family of Ella Leona Brown announce her passing which occurred on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Living Hope Special Care Home, Hampton, NB. Born in Penobsquis, NB, on August 15, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Leadocia (Cook) Teakles.

Ella is survived by her children: Shirley McAlary (Donnie) of Hampton, NB, Betty Smith (Eddy) of Titusville, NB, Bonnie Brewer (Doug) of Terrace, BC, Judy Brown of Barnesville, NB, Richard “Ricky” Brown (Barb-deceased) of Edmonton, AB, Kathy Wilson of Saint John, NB, and Randy Brown (Lynn) of Rimbey, AB; twenty grandchildren; thirty-five great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ella was predeceased by her loving husband Harold Brown; brothers, Burton and Everett Teakles; and sisters, Gladys Moore and Laura Drummond.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the staff from Living Hope Special Care Home. Your kindness and compassion shown towards Ella will not be forgotten.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. A graveside service will take place on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Barnesville Seventh Day Adventist Cemetery, Barnesville, NB.
