Obituary of Ruby Evelyn Mitchell

It is with great sadness that the family of Ruby Evelyn Mitchell announce her passing which occurred on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB. Born in Bloomfield, NB, on February 19, 1944, she was the daughter of the late James and Olive Mitchell.

Ruby is survived by her sons: Stewart Mitchell and Malcolm Mitchell; daughters: Jean Tays, Barbie Mitchell, Susan Mitton and Tanya Mitchell; grandchildren: Jamie, Amanda, Matthew, Trevor, Shelbi and Sheldon; great grandchildren: Chelsy and Dustin; sister Joyce Alcorn; as well as many nieces, nieces and extended family. In addition to her parents, Ruby was predeceased by her son Russell Mitchell; daughter Debbie Mitchell; brothers: Don, Earl, Vernon, Harry and Royce Mitchell; and sisters: Phillis Tayes and Shirley Mercer.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, and will be held privately. Interment will take place in the spring at the Christ Church Cemetery, Bloomfield, NB. Donations in memory of Ruby may be made to the NB Lung Association or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
