Obituary of Kathleen Carson

It is with great sadness that the family of Kathleen “Kay” Carson (nee Morrow), formerly of Bloomfield, Kings County, NB, announces her passing which occurred on March 22, 2023, at 100 years of age at the Kiwanis Nursing Home, Sussex, NB.

Kay was born on September 24, 1922, in Limavady, Northern Ireland and was a daughter of the late Henry and Edith Mary (Rice) Morrow.  She immigrated to Canada with her family in 1929.

She is survived by her son: Barry (Diane) Carson, Hampton; daughters: Nancy (Larry) Humphrey of Bloomfield, Betty Cole (Randy Barnes) of Wickham and Lynn (Jeff) Hooper of Utopia; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; son-in-law Brian Davis; sisters: Peggy Gamble of Dr. V. A. Centre, Hampton, Maple Shwetz of London, ON, Etta Sharpe of Arizona, Edith Rankin of Fredericton and Jean MacKenzie of Sussex; sister-in-law Velda Morrow of Burton; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Kay was predeceased by her husband Robert A. Carson; sons: Harry and Winston; daughter Gail Davis; grandson John Cole; brothers: James and Hugh; and sisters: Mary Wilkins and Aileen DuPlessis.

Kay loved to bake, sew, knit and quilt and was the happiest surrounded by her family and friends.

The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff of Kiwanis Nursing Home for all their care given towards Kay, your kindness and compassion will not be forgotten.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, where visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, from 4 to 7PM. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 11:00AM from St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, 978 Main Street, Hampton with Rev. Kent Burdett officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at Riverbank Cemetery, Riverbank, NB.
