Obituary of Ronald Edward Paul Thompson

It is with great sadness that the family of Ronald Edward Paul Thompson announce his passing which occurred on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB. Born in Saint John, NB, on September 17, 1945, he was the son of the late Leonard and Theresa (Higgins) Thompson.

Ron is survived by his children: Jeff Thompson of Fredericton, NB, Patrick Thompson (Jennifer) of Toronto, ON, Lana Thompson (Joe) of Upper Kingslear, NB and Lori Thompson of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren: Preston, Calvin, Sam, Maya, Alex and Kristen; brothers: Gerald Thompson (Beth) and Paul Thompson (Lynn); sisters: Anne Titus (Ross) and Marlene Thompson (Jane); as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ron was predeceased by his brothers Michael and Joe Thompson.

Ron graduated from St. Thomas University and raised his family in Fredericton, many of whom still call Fredericton home. Later in life, Ron moved to Nauwigewauk where he was a regular volunteer at the Community Center and a familiar face at many community events.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. As per Ron’s request, no visitation will be held. A private Celebration of life and family interment will take place at a later date at St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery, Hampton, NB.
