We just heard of Rose's passing, we did not know Rose personally, only through mailing parcels at the post office. She was the person you always prayed would wait on you, she had patience, kindness, and helped me (especially ) navigate the best way to send our parcels. She was a wonderful employee that will be greatly missed by myself and I am sure all of Hampton . Our condolences to all her friends, family and co-workers.... Mary and Gary Pollock

So very sorry to hear of Rose's passing. She was always so cheerful and I enjoyed our short chats when I saw her at the post office. She was always so helpful during my hip surgeries and would help me with a parcel or whatever help was needed, always such a thoughtful person. I will truly miss seeing her and send my deepest condolences to all of her family. The world is a sadder place with the loss of people like Rose.

Rose was my Moms Neighbor for over 30 years. A kind and nurturing person, who was always willing to help those in need. Rose and I had some good chats over the years, no matter where I ran into her, we always took a few minutes to catch up. Such a hard working lady no matter what job or task she was tackling. You will be dearly missed by all of Hampton, but especially the Summerville Family.

So shocked and saddened to hear of Rose's untimely passing. She will be missed in the neighbourhood and the town of Hampton. Rose was always so friendly and helpful at the Post Office - even if it was just a quick hello and a smile as you passed through to pick up your mail. If you managed to go in when it was quiet, Rose was always up for a friendly chat. She was a hard worker all her life and also the best newspaper delivery person we ever had! May she be at peace and with her soulmate Butch.

My deepest sympathy to Rose's family. Your memories are your keepsake of Rose. I am still trying to come to terms with our loss of such a wonderful person. I loved how Rose shot from the hip and always left you feeling welcome in her world. Rose had a great love for her fur babies and would post their antics on her Facebook page. She had love in her heart to share to those who got to know her. Helpful, caring and loved. You will be missed Rose. May you rest easy.

Hampton has lost a strong supporter of the community and a great ambassador. We have known Rose since the days our children were delivering newspapers and would wait in the early morning for Butch and Rose to drop off the days paper. Throughout the years Rose was always intertwined with so many residents and as many have attested her humour, friendship and just seeing that smile as you entered the post office to a "Hi" and left with a "Bye" Rest easy our friend. Rose's passing was such a shock to me and to the Town of Hampton & many others. I've know Rose & Butch for many years. There was a black squirrel in the neighborhood which is a rarity & she named it Midnight. One black squirrel led to more of them but they aren't around anymore. Rose & Butch would do our annual Hampton 5 Miler that the Hampton River Runners held. They were always the last one in but that didn't matter. They walked 5 miles. That was the accomplishment, not that they were the last ones in. Rose & Butch became part of our neighborhood corn boil - pre Covid. The post office is not the same not seeing Rose behind the counter. Hampton has been left with a huge void. My heart goes out to all of Rose's families. My deepest condolences.

I'm so very sorry to hear of Rose's passing. I met her through badminton at Hampton High (before the new one was built) 30 + years ago and we hit it off right away. The people who played hated when she and I teamed up as doubles partners- the games lasted way too long because we'd be in stitches laughing at and with each other over a funny comment she'd make. Sadly, lost touch with her over the years but always up for a chat when I'd stop in at the post office. Rest easy, Rose.

Our deepest condolences to the Secord family. We mourn with you in the loss of your sister, and our dear co-worker and friend Rose. You did a beautiful job commemorating her life in this obituary. The last few days have been extremely hard as we try to navigate at the post office knowing we won’t see her again. Coming in in the morning, seeing her locker covered with pictures of all her furry friends, her name tag, her little notes laying around. Smiling and serving customers even though our hearts are broken. But that’s the way she would have wanted it. Always the faithful employee. She absolutely leaves a void. We will miss her laughter, her quick wit, and yes, even her forever stories. If you had a friend in Rose, you had a loyal one. She lived her life serving others, working hard, and being completely dependable. I have posted a picture of one of our great laughs. Rose, always the comedian. We love you Rose, you are missed.
