It is with heavy hearts that the family of Katelyn Kilpatrick announce her passing, surrounded by her family, on January 7, 2023, at Bobby’s Hospice, Saint John, NB. Born in Saint John on August 19, 1981, she was the daughter of Brian and Ruth (Locke) Kilpatrick.

In addition to her loving parents, Katie is survived by her daughter, Aubrey Kilpatrick; brothers: Collin Kilpatrick (Raegan) and Craig Kilpatrick (Amanda); nephew, Nicholas; nieces: Faith, Gabrielle, and Grace; uncles: Lorne (Barb), Warren (Elaine), Edward (Doreen), Larry (Eloise), Crow (Georgie), Bruce (Karen), Bob (Yvonne), Tom (Becky), Murray (Pauline), Tim (Krista), and Kirk (Sarah); aunts: Carol, Virginia “Dee” (Paul), Eleanor, June (Francis), and Lois; aunts-in-law: Carol and Karen; special friends: Miranda Parlee, Heather McGinnis, Troy Fowler, and Josh Kilpatrick; and furever friends: Kaycee & Jessie; along with many extended family members and friends. Katie was predeceased by her grandparents: Tom Sr. and Anne Locke, and Theodore and Helen “Teddy” Kilpatrick; and uncles: John Kilpatrick and Donnie Locke.

Katie fought her cancer like a mighty warrior, being diagnosed in August of 2021 and living much longer than the doctors originally thought. Her fighting spirit has been an inspiration to her students and peers. She cared for her students as if they were her own. Katie had the most special affection for her nieces and nephews who all love her dearly.

Katie’s family would like to thank the community for every single act of kindness and support they have received over the last 1.5 years. They have been overwhelmed by your generosity and love. Bobby’s Hospice was also such a blessing to Katie and her family, who will always be grateful for the care and compassion she received from their staff.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, where a public visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 12, 2023, from St. Peter’s Anglican Church, in Upham, NB (2168 Rte 820).
