To Cathy, Wade, and to all of Lois's family I extend my deepest sympathy on your loss. Lois and I first met when she helped my mom, Gloria, deliver me at a few minutes past midnight on Dec 26th 1957. One year later she had Cathy, ironic yes? We had a cottage beside her and her family in Northport. When I was 6 years old, Lois saved my life when I went too far out in the water and was swept out in the current. Lois saw me and swam out, grabbed my arm and pulled me to a sandbar, pushed on my stomach to expell the water that I swallowed and had breathed in. I coughed and choked a bit and when I could finally talk, the first thing I said was " don't tell mom, don't tell mom". As I gor older, when I came home from whatever base I was posted at, I would stop in at the cottage to visit and say hi. When my mom was dying with cancer, she was at the old Amherst hospital and Lois was one of her nurses, I was in Colorado Springs, Colorado and would always call mom and sometimes Lois would answer the phone and we would chat a bit. Lois was a wonderful caring sweet woman, I called her an angel on earth and now she is an angel in heaven. God bless you all. Kathy Chapman

To Wayde, Cathy and all your family .
We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Irv and I met Lois and your Dad , Bob when we moved to Amherst , N.S. in 1969 from N.B. Irv and Bob worked at Dominion Bridge and Lois and I ( Brenda ) worked together at HighlandView Hospital . We have all shared fond memories at work and on the social side as well . Lois and I have remained “ bestest” of friends ever since and when Irv and I come home to N.B. , we make a trip to Amherst to have our pizza party with Lois and Wayde. We could talk for hours in the telephone about everything and anything . She gave me her “ Christmas short bread cookie “ recipe in 1971( on recipe card) and I make them every year . Our youngest daughter , # 3 is named after Lois .
We have shared many good times and our memories will be forever with us . She was a grand lady with a “ hearty laugh” and we could always go down memory lane and will continue to do so in thought and prayer . Rest well, my friend , as ever , Brenda and Irv Brewer , Fort McMurray, AB.
