Doug and family, my deepest condolences during this difficult time. Heather was a wonderful neighbour, introducing herself to us with a gift for our eldest daughter, now 20, when we brought her home from the hospital and were new to the neighbourhood. She was always excited to see us and wonderful to spend time with. So happy to have had special times with Heather as she helped us celebrate many milestones including the girls' graduations during COVID. She joined us during Emily's backyard celebration and the next year made the most beautiful mask to match Grace's prom dress, helping to make both occasions extra special. We will miss her.

I have so many wonderful memories of times spent with Heather, some with “the girls”, preparing costumes for and attending out of town curling bonspiels, attending Red Hat functions, as well as our Christmas brunches and mixed gatherings over the years.
You will be missed. Good bye dear Heather. Rest In Peace.

Heather was my true blue "go to" friend. If the curling club needed decorating, Heather not only had ideas but the materials to execute something special! Costumes never a problem, she had a stash. New Loyalist dress, just ask the best seamstress in town!! She will be missed but know she's in a better place & will continue to "Hurry Hard". Sincere condolences to the family & to Doug as he recuperates & copes with this loss!

We wish to extend our sincerest sympathy to Heather's husband, Doug, and to her family and friends. It was with saddened hearts that we learned of Heather's passing. We both were fortunate to teach with Heather at BRHS, and we enjoyed our time with her very much. Heather was a kind-hearted and compassionate teacher. As colleagues, and fast friends, we always welcomed time spent with Heather. As staff members, we could always count on Heather's positivity and realistic approach. She had a special way of lightening the load of a difficult school day and offering needed levity in the midst of any challenging situation.
Heather was always smiling, her eyes sparkling,... as I close my eyes, I can see her beautiful face now, and I easily recall how young at heart she always was. She spread happiness throughout the halls of the school, her classroom, amongst her peers, and within the community.
We pray Heather is forever remembered for her genuine, kind, and caring soul, and for the undeniable impact of her life's work as a teacher.
Through prayer, we ask God that Heather be gifted with a richly rewarding and everlasting afterlife.
Until we meet again one day, our friend.

Heather was my grade 5 teacher. She helped me navigate a difficult situation back then, and it helped me through my entire grade school experience. What I’m sure was an unmemorable passing conversation for her, was life changing for me. It gave me confidence and hope. I am now a grade 4 teacher and often try and channel her inclusive and accepting nature when helping students through the tough times. I’m so grateful to have been one of her students.

So sorry to learn if Heather’s passing, such a lovely, fun loving and kind soul, she will be greatly missed. I’ve know Heather for many years after teaching my daughter at her time in Belleisle Elementary and later in curling as a strong fun curler, also during her time as a guide for the cruise ships. I will miss, but will always remember her wit and infectious smile as well as willingness to lend a helping hand. What a very special person!
