I was taught by Miss Bezanson many years ago at HES. She was an incredible teacher, so patient and caring. She knew how to make everyone feel special and I especially loved when we would get to sing while she played the piano. Throughout the years when I would see her in the community, she take the time to chat and reminisce. Such a lovely person, my condolences to her friends and family.

Cheryl…I will miss you my friend. You were a wonderful teacher in classroom and as Andrea,s private piano teacher! I will miss our chats and now I know you are not unwell anymore and probably having tea with our friend, Ellen-Ann! The Heavenly choir has just received a new director …and a new Angel! I can see you walking on the streets of gold…..until we meet again.♥️♥️

I have such fond memories of Miss Bezanson as my grade 6 teacher at Hampton Elementary School, and what a wonderful, kind, compassionate person she was. We were her first class she told us; I will always remember her fondly as one of my favorite teachers.

So saddened to hear of Miss Bezanson’s passing. She was one of my favourite school teacher’s. Years later when I did her hair at the salon. She remembered the names of all the students in our grade six class. And where they sat in her classroom.
I also had the privilege of her playing the organ at my Wedding. Such a wonderful person who will be missed by all who knew her…

I thoroughly enjoyed teaching with Cheryl at HES. She was such a smart woman, full of such knowledge and wisdom. Every now and then while walking down the halls, I would walk with Cheryl to learn how to slow down!! She will be fondly remembered. I am saddened to have not been able to say good bye, but I look forward to our reunion in Heaven!

Dear Cheryl - what a lovely photo of you! We shared a few laughs over the years…. travelling to Quebec City was fun! We also enjoyed a wide assortment of board games, didn’t we? I am happy for you that you are no longer in pain but will still miss you. Rest In Peace, dear friend. xo

I had the opportunity to get to know Cheryl when teaching and living in the Hampton area. My fondest memories of Cheryl are when she taught my son Peter who was very mischievous. When my son remembers his teachers, Chery was one of his favourite. Even though Peter would often have to be disciplined, he knew that she loved and accepted him. Cheryl was the kind of teacher who made sure her students felt valued and safe in her classroom. We will miss you Cheryl!

My heart was saddened when I heard that Cheryl had passed away but as she told me - I know Where I am going. I know she is with the Lord, cancer free and enjoying the glories of Heaven. When I look at her picture I can hear her giggle as she told so many stories. I am thankful for the privilege of knowing her. Praying for her family and friends. Treasure your memories that God has given as I treasure mine.

Cheryl was a wonderful person and educator. She was my grade six teacher and the only teacher to teach me, my sister and my brother. She is responsible for my love of beautiful pens, calligraphy, and art. She shared read alouds with us that I would later share with my own students. She spent hours making marionettes out of wooden spoons with us. She celebrated our strengths, and helped us when we were struggling. As an adult I had the pleasure of working with Cheryl at H.E.S. She will be missed.

Lots of good memories of Cheryl. One was when Cheryl, Neil Bonney, my brother Gordon and I had a quartet that we called the Kings Quartet (as we were from Kings County NB and we were singing for the King). When I spoke to Cheryl on the phone a few weeks before her passing and as the Queen had passed away and we now had King Charles III and I said we will have to get the Kings Quartet going again and she responded that we will have to make it a Trio…She always had a response. Will miss Cheryl.

Miss Bezanson was my teacher in grade 6, and I have so many fond memories of her. She was always so encouraging and excited with all of my accomplishments. She made a huge impact on my life, as I'm sure she did with several of her students. I reconnected with her in recent times, and she was so warm and familiar to me. I'm very sad to hear of her passing.

My husband Lloyd helped to build Rev.& Mrs. Bezanson's retirement home in Hampton and Sheryl's home on the Norton Shore Road. Our three children were well acquainted with her as a school teacher and our oldest two, taking piano lessons as well, at her home. She was a lovely person, loved the children, but took no flack, they knew who the person in charge was and we all, parents and children respected her for that. She now rests in Glory with God her protector and friend. Much love and prayers to her close
earthly family and friends. Crystal & Lloyd Taber

I will greatly miss my dear friend Cheryl. We pulled a few pranks together but Cheryl was always the conscience and kept me reined in. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to have shared the last few months of her life. She never gave up or complained about her illness. She was the eternal optimist and we had planned that she would come spend some time with me on the beach last summer. However, it was not to be. RIP Cheryl. I will miss you forever. We both knew and worked with Cheryl during her early years at Hampton Elementary. We remember her many humorous "Cape Breton" expressions and her many talents and contributions through musicals, Christmas concerts and of course, the great art projects she did with her students. Cheryl had a keen memory and was a great story teller.
Cheryl opened her home and welcomed her friends and staff for a number of gatherings over the years. We have good memories and remember her fondly.
We admire her courage, inner strength and grace as she dealt with her diagnosis and treatments for cancer.
Rest in peace Cheryl,
Nilah and Paul
