Obituary of Gwen Harper
Gwendolyn Olive Harper (nee Crane) passed away peacefully at her home in Mill Village, NS, on Sunday September 18, 2022, with her two daughters by her side. Born in St. John’s, Newfoundland, on December 21, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mae (Mercer) Crane.
In addition to her parents, Gwen is predeceased by her husband, George Vincent Harper; her son, Carl Wade Harper; her sister, Shirley Lorraine Mahon; her sister-in-law, Rosalind Crane, and her brother-in-law, Gus Mahon.
Gwen is survived by her daughters: Kelly Marie Harper-Morehouse (Kevin), Georgina Renee Harper (Michael Stock); her grandchildren: Taylor Nicole (Quartermain) Lerch (Ben), Jesse Aaron Quartermain, Kelsey Cheyenne Morehouse; her great-grandchildren: Ava Arianna Lerch, Noah Benson Lerch, Nevaeh Isabella Noel Quartermain-Wood; her sisters: Jean Maher (Len), Donna James (Boyd), Helen Crane, Gayle Dawson; her brothers, Kevin Crane (Betty), Fred Crane (Violet), Jack Crane (Hanora), and Harry Crane; along with several nieces and nephews.
Gwen was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She will be forever loved and missed.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB and will be held privately. Interment will take place at Hampton Rural Cemetery. Flowers are welcome or donations in memory of Gwen may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (NS) or a charity of the donor’s choice.
